Many lawyers themselves state that they see this as the core of their task: to create insight into guilt in their clients. Of course, this is a difficult situation for an innocent person. Confess, even if he/she is innocent, and follow the advice of his lawyer, in order to obtain a milder sentence, probation or acquittal?
