In Sam Altman's recent essay "The Gentle Singularity" he emphasizes precisely that technology must be widely available. Society must collectively adapt and steer. He emphasizes coordination, not conflict. There is no reliable source in which Altman says that peace is bad or that conflict is necessary for progress. On the contrary, his discourse is usually "Progress is good, but we must manage it safely and inclusively"
