Abstract
This study explored the role of Eastern folk traditions in the education of social values with the aim of examining their ethical principles, pedagogical applications, and relevance in modern educational systems. The research focused on analyzing how these traditions, deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of Central Asia, convey moral values such as justice, mutual respect, and collective responsibility through storytelling, proverbs, and epic narratives. Key works such as “Manas”, “Kutadgu Bilig”, and “The Virtuous City” were studied to understand their contributions to ethical education and their alignment with universal moral frameworks. The findings revealed that Eastern folk traditions are not merely cultural artifacts but dynamic pedagogical tools capable of addressing contemporary challenges. By examining their integration into educational systems in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, the study highlighted their potential to enhance critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and cultural identity among students. These results contribute to a deeper understanding of how cultural narratives can enrich educational practices and support the development of harmonious, cohesive societies in a globalized world.
